Position Summary
The Accounting Manager – Operations Coordinator oversees a variety of coordination activities for the Operation Accounting teams, including Right Angle closeouts/master data setups/enhancements/and testing, as well as data transmissions issue resolution, and coordination of SOX controls and audit requests. The Manager is expected to ensure that personnel, procedures, controls and systems are in place and operate in a timely and effective manner for this portion of MPC’s business. This position requires close collaboration with multiple departments, such as Commercial Support, IT, Tax, and various accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the monthly accounting closeout, performing reviews and offering guidance on various accounting topics.
- Ensure internal controls are established and executed as designed. Monitor controls to verify effectiveness and compliance with SOX requirements.
- Ensure policies, plans and systems are in place to effectively carry-on various accounting activities related to all Operations Accounting teams.
- Drive for continuous improvement of business and systems processes, while maintaining integrity of controls and accuracy of the financial statements and regulatory reporting.
- Coach, mentor, and support employee growth and skill development, while providing a vision and guiding the team to achieve a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure communication and understanding of new business strategies to evaluate necessary changes in accounting processes, compliance reporting processes, and system requirements.
- Partners with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of Right Angle enhancements and system upgrades through planning, communication, and management of resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 8+ years of Accounting Experience
- Right Angle experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
