Job Description

The Accounting Manager position within the Accounting & Finance department plays a key role in supporting the shared goals of the Indiana University Foundation and the Indiana University Alumni Association. In this role, you'll maintain the integrity of IUAA's financial records, ensure compliance with GAAP, and keep accounting operations aligned with Foundation policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.

Your day-to-day work centers on financial reporting and analysis. You'll prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, build management reports and variance analyses for IUF finance leadership, and support reporting to campus, schools, and units on the accounts your team manages. You'll also serve as project manager for IUAA's standalone annual audit and Form 990/990-T filings, coordinating timelines, gathering documentation, and preparing audit schedules for review. Reviewing transactions prepared by accounting staff, confirming billing and cost-sharing amounts between IUAA and its affiliated partners, and monitoring spending against budgets round out your core responsibilities.

You'll act as the primary liaison between IUAA and IUF Finance, supervising an accounting team member and providing day-to-day guidance, feedback, and support for their professional development. In this role you'll bring a strong foundation in accounting, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders who don't share your finance background. If you're a detail oriented professional who's comfortable managing multiple deadlines, coordinating across several stakeholders at once, and digging into processes, we encourage you to apply today.
