The Role

WinnCompanies is searching for an Accounting Manager I to work in our Nashville Corporate Office and hold a pivotal role within our Military Housing Division.


This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the success of our Military Housing initiatives and work collaboratively with a dedicated team. In this role, you will assist in the oversight of the project accounting function as well as cash management and financial reporting. You will be responsible for maintaining and interpreting accurate financial records and overseeing critical month end and year end tasks. You will Assist in the training of others including newly hired accountants.


Please note that this is a hybrid position that will require 4 days in-office and 1 remote day. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare intricate calculations and journal entries for assigned Project Company along with related account reconciliation workbooks. This includes management fees, gross potential rent, open purchase order accrual, bad debt reserve, payroll accrual, and others as assigned by Accounting Manager/Financial Controller.
  • Ensure all fixed assets are entered in the Yardi Fixed Asset module and that all asset reports tie to balance sheet each month. Record entries to post depreciation expense.
  • Participate in the completion and issuance of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements/reports.
  • Oversee duties associated the posting of electronic rental payments (MAC/DFAS) and assist with MIMO files.
  • Assist in the establishment and directs the implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This is an ongoing review and modification process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3- 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Ability to travel throughout the country approximately 3-4 times per year.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel 3-4 times per year.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Accounting, Property Management Accounting preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi property management software.
  • CPA candidate.
