This role leads planning, analysis, and performance reporting for the Chlorovinyls Business (PVC/VCM and CA&D), one of Westlake’s most complex SBU’s with the highest degree of vertical integration, requiring a high degree of analytical skill to assess results across an end-to-end value chain, identify key performance drivers, quantify risks/opportunities, and translate data into actionable recommendations for Executive Management. Responsibilities include deep-dive analysis of results of operations and balance sheet, sales volumes and pricing, profitability by product/customer/market, capital and operating budgets, financial and market forecasts, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and other ad hoc decision support. The position also supports the accounting close process by preparing sales and netback reports used to reconcile sales revenues at month-end, a key SOX control. These COPA reports form the basis for customer profitability analysis in the Company’s digital financial platform (RISE). The incumbent regularly interacts with Executive Management and serves as a trusted partner to business and functional leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the generation of monthly and quarterly sales and various other financial reports, executive presentations, and advanced analytics packages for the Division Controller and Westlake’s Senior Management, ensuring accuracy, insight, and decision relevance

  • Own the monthly financial performance review for the Chlorovinyls Business (financial MBR / QBR process), including EBITDA variance/bridge analysis (volume, price, mix, feedstock/energy, manufacturing, logistics, FX, and other drivers) and identification / quantification of root causes of deviations in support of strategic and operational decisions

  • Synthesize complex analyses into clear narratives, implications, and recommendations; deliver insights to the Division Controller, Segment Controller, and Westlake’s Senior Management (EVP Materials Segment, SVP Chlorovinyls, and other senior executives)

  • Research relevant market, industry, and macroeconomic trends; quantify impacts to volume, pricing, margin, and working capital; and incorporate insights into forecasts, scenarios, and executive materials

  • Lead and consolidate the Chlorovinyls monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes; coordinate with stakeholders across Chlorovinyls and other supporting functions (logistics, S&OP, manufacturing, commercial, other functions) to ensure integrated set of assumptions, accurate financial forecast and budgets, and timely completion of analysis, and ultimately high-quality presentations to the Division Controller and Senior Management

  • Develop and oversee complex scenario, sensitivity, and what-if analyses (e.g., feedstock/energy, outages, demand shocks, pricing/mix shifts, capital timing), leveraging prior experience to inform business planning and risk/opportunity assessment

  • Provide ad hoc analyses and decision-support to senior management, and lead special projects requiring advanced analytical judgment, cross-functional coordination, and executive-level communication

  • Identify, design, and implement enhancements to planning, forecasting, and performance reporting processes/systems to improve analytical rigor, standardize key drivers, and increase scalability across the integrated Chlorovinyls value chain

  • Advance financial reporting automation and analytics (e.g., dashboards and standardized data models) and champion data governance, controls, and integrity across sources used for executive reporting and performance assessment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will take a leadership role in a team of three analysts. This position will have direct oversight of three Principal Analysts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
