Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a self-starting Accounting Intern to help drive the Finance & Accounting Department process and daily task efforts across several ongoing projects and vendors. In this internship program you will have the opportunity to work closely with a team that plays a critical role in the monthly close process by contributing over piloting the preparation of support for certain journal entries. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, where you’ll enhance your skills in financial analysis and data management while networking with experienced professionals. You’ll gain valuable mentorship, engage in impactful projects, and lay a solid foundation for a successful accounting career.
Essential Job Functions

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure financial information is recorded and communicated in a timely and precise manner
• Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment
• Perform reconciliations and data analysis
• Participate in special projects and process improvements as needed
• Provide general administrative support to the GL team

Duties

• Assist with bookkeeping and preparing month-end financial reports.
• Prepare and organize documentation for journal entries
• Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions.
• Assist with the annual audit (e.g. compiling audit schedules and responding to audit requests) for various countries.
• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and month end G/L trial balance for review.
• Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment.
• Review and verify financial data for accuracy and compliance
• Conduct research and provide support on accounting issues

Job Requirements

• Undergraduate pursing a degree Accountancy/Finance related fields.
• Highly motivated individuals with a strong passion of learning.
• Skilled at problem solving, creative thinking and communications.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and execute quickly & effectively in a fast-paced environment.
