We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented College Accounting Intern to support the Accounting Department. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations within the energy / real estate industry.
You will work directly with experienced accountants on core accounting tasks, gaining practical knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, and accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Help prepare and reconcile journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and supporting schedules
- Assist with invoice processing, expense reports, and payment runs
- Participate in bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Help compile data for financial statements and management reports
- Support internal audit preparation and compliance documentation
- Perform data entry and analysis in accounting software and Excel
- Work on special projects such as process improvement, cost analysis, or budgeting support
- Currently enrolled as a college student (Junior or Senior preferred) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Completion of core Accounting courses (Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is a plus
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Professional demeanor and eagerness to learn
- Real-world experience in corporate accounting and financial operations
