Looking to kickstart your career in accounting? At CCS, our Accounting Intern role offers hands-on experience working alongside a collaborative Finance team, where you’ll gain real exposure to the day-to-day operations that keep a business running. This isn’t a “sit back and observe” internship—you’ll contribute to meaningful projects, support key accounting processes, and build practical skills that translate directly into a full-time career.
What You'll Do:
- Support month-end close by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and documentation
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including invoice review and data entry
- Help maintain general ledger accuracy through account reconciliations
- Contribute to audit preparation and ad hoc financial analysis
- Update and maintain financial reports, trackers, and dashboards
- Assist with billing, collections, and customer account research
- Document accounting processes and help improve standard operating procedures
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives using tools like Excel, Power Query, and Power Automate
- Collaborate with teams across Accounting, Finance, and Operations
- Learn and apply real-world accounting policies, controls, and best practices
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
What You Bring:
Competencies & Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Junior or Senior preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables a plus)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Exposure to accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite or similar is a plus, not required)
Knowledge & Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Junior or Senior preferred)
- Prior internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance is a plus but not required
Education / Certification
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program (Accounting, Finance, or related discipline)
