Auterion is seeking an Accounting Intern to support our finance team during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in corporate accounting within a fast-paced technology startup environment.
You'll work alongside experienced accounting professionals, contribute to month-end close processes, support our first global external audit, and gain exposure to enterprise accounting systems (NetSuite), inventory management, and multi-entity operations. This role is ideal for an accounting student looking to build practical skills, understand how startups scale their finance functions, and prepare for a career in corporate accounting or public accounting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with month-end close activities, including data entry, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation
- Support balance sheet reconciliation process by gathering supporting documentation and investigating variances
- Help maintain organized filing systems for accounting records, audit documentation, and compliance materials
- Assist with audit preparation activities, including preparing schedules, organizing PBC requests, and compiling supporting documentation
- Support inventory accounting processes, including reconciling physical counts to system records and investigating discrepancies
- Perform data analysis and quality checks in NetSuite to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies
- Help document accounting processes, procedures, and system workflows
- Participate in special projects related to process improvement, system implementation, and automation initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, FP&A) to gather information and resolve accounting questions
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Completed at least intermediate accounting coursework (Accounting I & II)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and ask questions when needed
- Authorized to work in the US
