The Role

Job Responsibilities

The Accounting Intern is a dynamic position. The intern provides support to various corporate accounting & finance functions with specific responsibilities for the processing, recording, updating, and reconciliation of financial information in compliance with established policies and procedures. From the closing of financial books and records to the preparation of our quarterly SEC filings, this position will participate in various aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting.

  • Participate in various functions including, but not limited to, corporate accounting, external financial reporting, audit, and treasury.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process including posting journal entries, running routines, and supporting the corporate accounting team.
  • Reconcile and maintain financial workpapers.
  • Draw up monthly financial reports, as needed.
  • Prepare and explain financial analytics.
  • Participate in SEC reporting, including the document gathering and tie out processes.
  • Assist shared services with daily treasury tasks.
  • Contribute to the preparation and coordination of the audit process, including interaction with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with the testing and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in accounting.
  • Knowledge of fundamental accounting, finance, and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are key.
  • Ability to plan and organize priorities and schedule and monitor deliverables from a variety of workstreams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Initiative to continuously improve and challenge the status quo.
  • Inter-departmental teamwork skills.
