Role:

Responsible for daily accounting activities to include balancing multiple general ledger accounts.  All department personnel will be cross trained on multiple accounting duties and will be required to answer questions and assist in problem resolution.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Posts daily journal entries, processes exceptions, posts to and balances general or subsidiary ledgers and reconciles bank transaction accounts.  
  2. Performs back-office tasks such as ACH, share draft processing, wire transfers, credit and debit card issues.
  3. Performs accounts receivable/payable tasks.  Verifies accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting information received.  Reconciles and reports discrepancies found.
  4. Performs supporting administrative tasks within the accounting department and assists others within the department as needed.
  5. Maintains files, including general ledger journal, accounts payable documentation and other miscellaneous filings.
  6. Prepares assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  7. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to member services and financial services area to include (but not limited to):  BSA reporting requirements, OFAC, USA Patriot ACT, Red Flags, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, Privacy, etc.
  8. Other job duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of accounting or financial institution experience preferred.
  • A high school education or GED required.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable

Ergonomic Considerations:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
  • Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Ability to operate office machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
