Job Summary:
Jackson Lewis PC is seeking a motivated Accounting/Finance Intern to join our dynamic team in West Harrison, NY. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to learn about various aspects of financial operations, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop essential professional skills in a supportive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Retrieve accounts payable (AP) invoices and contracts for processing and record-keeping.
- Assist with cash application tasks, including posting payments and resolving discrepancies.
- Support AP vendor clean-up activities to maintain accurate vendor records.
- Contact vendors to obtain W-9 forms and barcode these forms to Expert Image for efficient processing.
- Shadow experienced team members across different accounting and finance functions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the department's operations.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong academic record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
For Westchester County the expected hourly for this position is $18.50. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
