ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR

The Accounting Coordinator is a member of the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) Budget Division and reports to the Deputy Budget Director. This position will be the point person for AGO accounts associated with settlements and grant programs.
Primary Duties:
- Serve as the point person for establishing and closing out Trust accounts.
- Enter and process all encumbrances and payments from assigned accounts.
- Update internal tracking reports related to grants, as needed.
- Establish new vendor records in MOSAIC.
- Utilize the Commonwealth Information Warehouse to generate expenditure and encumbrance reports for relevant staff and management.
- Identify opportunities to improve or streamline the grants processes.
- Monitor expenditure approvals and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Consult with staff on the timing of closing out expired or inactive accounts.
- Assist as needed with travel arrangements for leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and/or relevant experience with accounts payable or contracts.
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of financial or contract experience with the Commonwealth, preferred.
- Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, including other Commonwealth agencies and vendors.
- Knowledge of MMARS/Mosaic, Access, and Excel preferred.

Position Type: Full-time/Exempt
Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
Salary: $75,000 - $83,000
