Job Description
Position: Head of Global Accounting and Controlling Operations
Reporting to: Director, Global Finance Operations
Location: Katowice, Poland - hybrid
As we continue our finance transformation journey, we are looking for a dynamic and strategic manager to join our team as the Head of Controlling Accounting Organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing our controllership mindset and driving strategic digital enablement across global controlling and accounting functions: general accounting, closing processes, fixed assets, and intercompany. The ideal candidate will leverage AI technology, combined with data and analytics to strengthen company controls and insight generetion. As a Senior Manager, you will not only oversee the general accounting processes but also steer and enhance digital enablement activities that drive efficiency and innovation to financial operations and reporting and contribute meaningfully to our finance digital enablement journey.
Your Responsibilities:
- Controllership Mindset Enhancement: Foster a culture of strong controllership and accountability within the organization.
- Strategic Digital Enablement: Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies to streamline general accounting, closing processes, fixed assets management, and intercompany transactions.
- Data and Analytics Controls: Utilize data and analytics to enhance financial controls and insight into processes and operations.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 40 professionals, ensuring effective management of P&L and Balance Sheet control. Manage and Optimize month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements. Lead controllership activities, including maintenance of balance sheet and P&L reviews, internal controls, risk management, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Oversee the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
- RPA and AI Portfolio Enhancement: Expand and optimize the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and AI within the finance function.
- Organizational Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the organization's strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and digital finance transformation teams to ensure successful integration of digital technologies.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial data analysis and digital trends.
- Be a important liaison between finance and other departments, ensuring understanding on financial matters.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in a senior controllership or accounting leadership role.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of digital tools and technologies in finance.
- Experience with AI, RPA, and data analytics in a financial context.
- Multi-structure organisation, strategy and team management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA or ACCA).
