Accounting Manager will be responsible for day-to-day Finance & Accounting work, including Controllership- SG&A, and Revenue accounting for the OGA business. The role requires solid accounting expertise, ownership of month-end close activities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Analytics, Audit, and Controllership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and an effective leader capable of ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Controllership Activities: Responsible for SG&A and Revenue controllership activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
  • Core Accounting Operations: Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting activities
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Collaborate closely with team members to maintain the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction; demonstrate solid analytical and detail-oriented capabilities
  • Variance Investigation: Research and analyze financial variances, provide clear and accurate explanations, and manage client interactions and escalations effectively
  • General Ledger Expertise: Apply solid knowledge of GL and sub-GL data sources, including chart of accounts, revenue/expense classification, Intercompany accoutning, and related accounting structures
  • Systems & Reporting Tools: Retrieve and analyze financial data using enterprise tools such as Blackline, Hyperion SmartView, PeopleSoft, SQL, and Power BI to support reporting and analytics activities
  • Analytics & Reconciliation: Perform detailed variance analysis, including root-cause identification of discrepancies between Subledger and PSGL, ensuring accuracy and resolution of accounting differences
  • Oversees/coaches/trains team in how to analyze financial results, trends, performance metrics, variances, and root cause analyses
  • Stakeholders for the role
    • Revenue and Expense Analytics team, Consolidation team, Directors & Controller's
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • B.Com/M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter, equivalent experience ( 10+ years) - CA's (7+ Years Post Qualification)
  • 10+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Should possess execellent Leadership and interpersonal skills as well as solid understanding of accounting and management principles.
  • Effectively balances quality, customer service and productivity standards. Ability to coach and develop accounting team
  • Comes with good experience working with reporting tools like Blackline, Concur, Ariba, Hyperion smartview and PeopleSoft General ledger
  • Advance proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications (Advanced Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Past experience working with general ledger / sub-ledger accounting applications
  • Analytical skills and an eye for detail. Hands on exposure to:
    • Variance analysis & commentary writing
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items
    • Responding to internal and external auditor requests
    • Proposing solutions to noted problems
    • Documenting methodology, analysis and conclusions
  • Proven excellent Written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability work independently in self-directed manner and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Finance experience in any insurance industry. (health insurance industry preferred).

Work Hours: Regular shift hours : 1.30 PM to 11PM IST
Monthend/quarter/year end: Should be flexible to work in shift timings
