Rijeka Gateway d.o.o. (RGW), a joint venture between A.P.Moller-Maersk Group through APM Terminals and ENNA Group through ENNA Logic, is reaching the final stage of the big project: building the high-tech Rijeka Gateway Terminal.

The purpose of this position is to:

  • Assist the Finance Business Partner to support administration, receive and sort documentation, prepare financial documents for posting, and coordinate with the local bank.
  • Apply accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate and timely posting and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
  • Be responsible that business events with monetary impact are correctly and timely recorded & reported in the relevant systems.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Support and supervision of organizing original documents for the accounting purpose.
  • Written and oral communication with stakeholders such as suppliers, banks, tax, and state authorities and shareholders.
  • Supervising records and filing system
  • Ensures all payments are executed as per plan, effective control measures are in place to ensure single correct payments according to vendor agreement, communication with clients and procurement stakeholders to optimize payment terms.
  • Applies local and group accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate and timely financial statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
  • Supervise ensuring all the financial documentation is received and processed.
  • Support Share centre and Accountant in accurate and timely bookkeeping as well as monthly and year end closing procedures.
  • Support and provide in-depth information to FBP, CFO, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Supervise and maintain internal controls to minimize fraud risks.
  • Support in preparation of financial documents for monthly and annual reports, corporate and income tax reporting.
  • Supervise the process of capitalisation and depreciation.
  • Comply with the company’s HSSE regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Execute other tasks assigned from time to time by management or immediate supervisor related to the development or execution of the business of the company.

Reporting and Scope:

  • The position reports directly to the Finance Business Partner.
  • External reporting: customers, tax authorities, external and internal auditors, regulatory bodies.
  • Geographical scope: Rijeka, Croatia.

Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in accounting and/or finance.

Systems Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office, Office 365, specifically Excel spreadsheets.
  • Various software platforms relevant to the role (IFS, OneStream, N4, etc.).

Skills:

  • Team player and collaborator.
  • Organizational and planning skills, high attention to details.
  • Analytical skills including the ability to extract, compile and analyse data.
  • Fluent English and Croatian language skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to handle personal and company information with integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.

Education

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
