The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance department in various accounting tasks. This role supports the organization by generating billing reports and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. The Accounting Assistant works with internal stakeholders across the organization and assists in the smooth operation of financial processes.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the entry and upkeep of financial data and accounting records
- Reconcile and verify bank statements to ensure accuracy
- Review, reconcile credit card transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Process accounts payable transactions efficiently
- Assist with invoice processing and verification
- Contribute to special projects aimed at optimizing financial processes
- Review, audit, and process employee expense reports
- Manage expense report and travel platform
- Provide guidance to employees on how to submit and manage expense reports
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting; or a minimum of 2 years of experience in general accounting or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including Excel fundamentals
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional productivity and reliability to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
