The Plant Company is looking for a Temporary Accounting Assistant to help our Finance team keep daily accounting work accurate, organized, and moving forward. If you enjoy working with numbers, tracking down discrepancies, and checking the details, we’d like to hear from you.
You’ll support accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, and recordkeeping while working closely with our Accounting Manager.
What You’ll Do

Enter customer invoices, payments, and approved credit memos.

Review vendor invoices and prepare payments for approval.

Help research account discrepancies and follow up on outstanding balances.

Reconcile customer and vendor records and assist with month-end tasks.

Maintain accurate information in accounting systems and spreadsheets.

Keep supporting documents organized and assist with other accounting projects.

Qualifications
Required Skills & Abilities

Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and data entry.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic accounting procedures.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel, and learning accounting software.

Clear communication and a professional approach with customers, vendors, and coworkers.

Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, follow established processes, and ask questions when something doesn’t look right.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
-
Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Experience entering and maintaining information in an ERP system and working with electronic accounting records.
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least two years of related accounting or bookkeeping experience required.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based work involving computer use and handling records, with standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting materials up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
