This Position reports to:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support general accounting activities in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures. Each day, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing record to report data. You will also exhibit your proficiency by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with the relevant accounting standards.

This role is contributing to the Finance Operational Service based in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Leadership & People Management
- Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide feedback, and mentor team members for growth.
- Lead hiring, training, and performance appraisals for the AP team.
- Manage attendance, leave planning, and ensure adequate backup for all activities.
- Organize daily huddles and regular reviews to monitor process health and address issues.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure accurate processing of AP transactions and adherence to SLA/TAT timelines.
- Oversee month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Present dashboards with SLI & KPI reports to business users and drive improvements in Paid on Time (POT) metrics.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation of best practices and harmonization across AP processes.
- Ensure compliance with ABB Group Accounting Standards, local GAAP, and internal controls.
- Lead internal control testing and documentation for financial reporting compliance.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for country heads and clients, ensuring service satisfaction.
- Manage customer queries and enhance customer experience through timely resolution.
Analysis & Reporting
- Perform transaction analysis, identify discrepancies, and ensure corrective actions.
- Deliver KPI/SLI reports and insights to stakeholders for decision-making.
- Utilize ERP tools (SAP, Oracle) and reporting platforms (Power BI) for data analysis and visualization.
- Handle escalations, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures.
- Manage new projects and process transitions from other business units to ABB GBS.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- 7–11 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (Power BI).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
- Proven experience in process improvement, compliance, and project management.
