As an Accounting Analyst III, you will play a crucial role in providing expertise and mentorship in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information for leadership decision-making. This role ensures compliance with requirements and regulations and is a resource for both internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will also include looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Responsibilities/Expectations:- Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
- Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers
- Provides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processes
- Participates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Processes and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactions
- Supports the regulated financial reporting function with the monthly close and the quarterly and year-end reporting processes
- Preferred: Prior experience in regulatory accounting, financial reporting and statement consolidation
- Preferred: Prior experience with Oracle ERP or similar applications, Workiva, and PowerBi
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum four (4) years experience in accounting in the energy industry
- Preferred: CPA
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
- Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial skills
- Preferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
