As an Accountant, you will maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. You will ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. You will prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. You will analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with accounting policies and standards.
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations with proper supporting documentation and analysis.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end close activities.
- Analyze and review balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
- Maintain proper documentation for all accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS (as applicable) and internal accounting policies.
- Support preparation and review of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Assist in audit processes by providing required schedules and documentation.
- Monitor and improve internal controls related to GL processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to clarify accounting treatments and ensure proper recording.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Analyzes, documents, and communicates revenue, expenditure and balance sheet trends and variances.
- Interacts with business units and controller group to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Develops productive working relationships with immediate and extended finance team, including functional support teams.
- Recommends, develops, and maintains financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
- Inputs financial data and processes reports using company automated financial systems.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Adheres to company policies, practices and procedures, GAAP, and SOX standards.
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or Record-to-Report (R2R) domain
- Strong knowledge of:
- Accounting concepts and principles
- Financial reporting and financial statements
- Accounting standards (IND AS/ GAAP / IFRS) adding machines
- Strong expertise in General Ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Experience in journal entry preparation and review
