Our client in the Oil and Gas sector is seeking an
experienced Accountant to support the accurate and timely preparation of
financial records and reports. The role will be responsible for ensuring
compliance with accounting standards, managing financial transactions, and
supporting budgetary processes, audits, and overall financial operations. The
successful candidate will provide insights that guide financial planning and
decision-making while ensuring strong adherence to company policies and
regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record
and reconcile financial transactions, including general ledger entries, bank
reconciliations, and intercompany accounts.
- Assist
with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by preparing
journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Prepare
accurate financial statements and reports in line with company policies and
accounting standards.
- Perform
monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving
discrepancies.
- Support
budget preparation and analysis by tracking expenses and identifying financial
trends.
- Ensure
compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and all regulatory requirements.
- Provide
documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Assist
with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice approvals, payments,
and collections.
- Review
and validate employee expense reports in line with company policies.
- Recommend
process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting
function.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA,
ICA, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounts
payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP,
Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting
principles, processes, and vendor management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and
problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective
communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact
with vendors and team members.
Skills Required
