Role Description
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a professional
with 2+ years of public accounting experience who is ready to move into a high-growth tech environment. You will
play a critical role in building scalable accounting processes, ensuring GAAP and tax compliance, and providing the
financial clarity needed to support our rapid growth.
Job Responsibilities:
● Financial Close and Reporting: Manage the full-cycle monthly and quarterly close process, including
preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance (flux) analysis.
● Operational Accounting: Oversee daily operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash
management, expense reporting, and payroll processing.
● Compliance and Tax: Support various tax filings including sales and use tax, property tax, unclaimed
property, and payroll tax.
● Process Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to modernize the finance function using AI-
enabled tools and cloud-based software to automate manual procedures.
● Process Documentation: Create and maintain detailed standard operating procedures (SOP), process
flowcharts, and Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs) for core cycles.
● Audit Readiness: Lead the preparation of audit schedules for external auditors to ensure a clean and
efficient year-end audit.
● Other Projects: Support various ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualification and Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● 2+ years of professional accounting experience, with a background in Big 4 public accounting preferred.
● Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
● Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
● Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
● Proactive attitude with a commitment to accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
● Strong problem-solving abilities and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment.
