As an integral part of our finance team, the Accountant will play a crucial role in driving financial strategy and decision-making. With a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing valuable insights to support the growth and success of our restaurant brands.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of 10 finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas of improvement and develop strategic recommendations.
- Prepare and present financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise and support for special projects and initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, ensuring our financial processes remain current and effective.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors, facilitating smooth audit processes.
- Provide training and support to team members, promoting continuous professional development and growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the restaurant industry.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring finance teams, with a track record of developing high-performing individuals.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to apply these principles in financial reporting and analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques, utilizing advanced Excel skills and financial software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial data and reporting.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues or discrepancies.
