SUMMARY
The Accountant will support the Finance Department at API Harowe (St. Kitts) Limited facility with daily and monthly accounting tasks, including financial close, compliance, reconciliations, payroll, and accounts payable. This role also works closely with Production, HR, and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage in general accounting activities including the accurate and complete preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit-loss statements, and capital expenditure reports.
Support annual physical inventory counts and cycle count reporting and analysis.
Provide data and support for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting and audit requirements while maintaining a robust internal control framework to ensure ongoing compliance.
Participate in month-end closings.
Support the budget and forecasting processes.
Proactively identify improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.
Keeping up-to-date with accounting and tax regulations as well as best practices
Support internal and external audit activities.
Support payroll administration by participating in weekly payroll processing.
Comply with safety and quality protocols and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field
2-3 years of relevant accounting experience is desired
Experience with an ERP system; Oracle preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel is required
Manufacturing experience is a plus
Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
