Job Summary

As an Accountant, the incumbent is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents for monthly and annual reporting.

This position plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assists in maintaining G/L Account Structure according to established departmental procedures.
  • Reviews/prepares monthly General Journal Entries and maintains related documentation according to established departmental procedures.
  • Reviews financial documents for accuracy and account reconciliation.
  • Analyzes financial data for monthly financial statements and provides recommendations
  • Ensures financial records comply with GAAP.
  • Generates financial reports
  • Collaborates with internal departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support
  • Prepares reconciliation and other schedules for interim and annual audit in a manner, which will minimize the time and effort of this process. Schedules and reconciliation will be prepared in accordance with audit firm and/or departmental guidelines.
  • Accountant responsible for Fixed Assets – analyzes and enters all capital additions, disposals, and retirements into system. Prepares asset reconciliation and reports. Works with the Corporate Controller on the Capital Access Team. Trains end users on Axiom Capital Tracking software and reporting. Works closely with the project managers tracking expenses.
  • Accountant responsible for reconciling cash – prepares daily cash tracking/projection report. Responsible for all cash-related entries to the ledger and reconciliations.
  • Works closely with the Director of Treasury on all cash processes and issues. Performs annual internal audits at deposit locations.
  • Assists with other Finance functions as necessary in order to maintain an even distribution of tasks and enhance the Finance Team Approach. These functions shall be performed in accordance with established departmental procedures and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or High School Diploma or equivalent PLUS five (5) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus
