Overview

This position performs a wide variety of regular and recurring, moderately complex accounting functions, which include preparing, reconciling, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records. This position may be responsible for key focus areas.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains current standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation for commissions and other assigned processes.
• Prepares month-end journal entries and completes balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts. 
• Investigates discrepancies and other areas of concern regarding financial information and recommend corrective actions.
• Identifies areas for improvement and implements improvements to processes.
• Provides accounting support to departments during the budgeting process and acts as a backup to other Accounting team members.
• Other duties / projects as assigned.
• Validates monthly commission calculation, reconciling commission reports, preparing manual adjustments, etc., while ensuring compliance with the corporate commissions policy.
• Communicates commissions results to Sales Team, responds to questions and resolves discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge and competency in accounting principles, general ledger accounting & account reconciliations.
• Strong organizational skills along with the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively across the organization and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work with and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience.
