Accountant

This is a hybrid role in our Tyler, TX office

We are seeking a talented Accountant who can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy working with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer, verbal and written communication skills.

Your Impact:

• Customer billing (non-premium) and collections (includes premium)

• Vendor and Employee Expense invoices payment processing

• Journal entries for monthly financial statement reporting purposes

• Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations (surplus lines, sales & use tax, 1099s, etc.)

• Complex and large volume of reconciliations (bank accounts, insurance program bordereaux by carrier and program year, security deposits, fixed assets, etc.)

• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data

• Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc. for multiple entities

• Maintaining accurate financial records

• Performing reconciliation audits and resolving discrepancies

• Preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries

Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience

• Multiple entity accounting experience is required, with progressive accounting experience or experience as an Office Manager

• Understanding of mathematics, accounting and financial processes

• Strong proficiency with MS Excel is required; experience with QuickBooks and AMS360 is preferred

• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills

• Ability to work overtime as needed to achieve reporting deadlines

• Ability to travel occasionally as required
