The Opportunity

For our Finance Division we are currently looking for an Accountant to join our great team in Croatia. This will be an office-based position requiring daily presence in our office in Zagreb.

What You'll do:

• Process and account of invoices, payments, expense reports and petty cash transaction in accordance with affiliate/Abbott policies and procedures and local regulations
• Prepare tax returns and statistics reports and submit as required for local authorities
• Enter and reconcile bank statements with accounting information on monthly basis
• Monthly closing reports for Abbott Affiliates in Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia
• Control and correct employees expense report
• Backup responsibilities for setting up and managing the execution of all payments through the electronic banking system following up as required on required management approvals
• Maintain the schedules with the data for various tax and contribution calculations in accordance with law requirements (for example: income tax, health contribution etc.)
• Participate in customer invoice preparing and booking in accordance with Abbott Laboratories international / Local policies and procedures and local laws regulations
• Prepare internal reports in accordance with Abbott policies and requirements

Required qualifications & background:

• University degree in accountancy or in economics.
• Strong Computer skills – Excel, Word.
• High-level of accuracy.
• High level of local Croatian language and local legislation knowledge.
• Good level of English (both written and spoken).
• Minimum 2 year experience in similar position, preferably in multinational company.
• Chartered Accountant Diploma - would be a strong asset.
• Computer skills – iScala, SAP - would be a strong asset.
• Excellent listening and communication abilities.
• Accuracy and punctuality in work with numbers.
• Ability to perform in stress situations.
• Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
