We are looking for an ambitious Accountant (m/w/d) to join and support the growth of our accounting team.

Location: remote within Germany

Full-time permanent role 40 hrs per week

• Assist with the day-to-day management of the company's financial records, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records

• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts

• Participate in the preparation of financial reports

• Support senior team members with financial analysis and reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with German GAAP and tax regulations

• Approving of invoices and expenses

• Preparation and booking of accruals and provisions 

• Maintenance of fixed assets

• Booking of bank statements and credit card reconciliations

• Processing and control of payments

• Reconciliation of balance sheet, income statement accounts and of creditors and customers

• Preparation of the VAT declaration and tax reports    

• Preparation of reports to the Bundesbank

• Booking and reconciliation of salaries, social security and health insurance

• Participation in monthly and annual financial statements and audits

• Intercompany reconciliation

• At least 5 years of professional experience

• You are fluent in German and have a good professional level of English.

• You have an academic degree in Accounting or a comparable education/qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent), tax specialist or a business administration degree.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with bookkeeping

• You have first experience with accounting softwares and ERP tools (Workday and Datev)

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• You have a good track record of working collaboratively and successfully in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment, bonus if you have worked in fast-paced/scaling organizations or Start-ups before

• Knowledge of German Local GAAP and German Taxation would be an advantage
