Accountant - Hong Kong (3 Month Contract)
The Opportunity
As we continue to grow our operations in Asia-Pacific, we are looking for a high calibre candidate to join our dynamic and professional Regional Finance team as an Accountant, based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. This is a unique opportunity for a driven, self-motivated candidate to be a part of a dynamic, growing international advisory company.
As an Accountant, you will play a critical role by ensuring that generated revenues are accurately accounted for. This individual will be tasked with tracking Teneo’s regional revenue streams, management of financial records, and ensuring a healthy financial ecosystem You will support key markets in Asia Pacific, these include: Hong Kong SAR, Mainland China and Japan. This is a 3-month contract role.
Key Responsibilities
As an Accountant within the Regional Finance team at Teneo, your role will include:
- APAC Revenue Accounting – Reporting into the Finance Director, you will ultimately be responsible for meticulously maintaining the accuracy and completeness of revenue recognition. Other key areas of responsibility include:
- Work directly with client leads to prepare and send out client invoices;
- Follow debt collection with clients to ensure on time settlement;
- Prepare accounting entry for customer receipt and settlement and update Accounts Receivable and Aging Reports;
- Provide monthly inter-company settlement confirmation with various overseas entities;
- Regularly update and reconcile Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports and invoices;
- Prepare month-end closing, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations;
- Collaboration – Work with other Finance colleagues to create optimal financial plans, analyses, and projections for the Company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or related disciplines is required
- 2 - 4 years related experience working within the finance function, ideally from the professional services sector
- Attention to detail and demonstrates a consistent approach to ensuring financial records are maintained at the highest of standards, level of detail and without error
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining good relationships
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential; additional Chinese language competencies at business communication level would be an advantage
- Personable, diligent and organised in approach to work
- International experience (study and/or work) a plus
