Position Summary

The Financial Accountant primarily responsible for the efficient and timely processing of all local Tax and statutory reporting requirements as well as responsible for compliance with all internal and external policies, principles, guidelines and legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all financial processing is performed in a timely and efficient manner to comply with timetables

  • Prepare month end journals in accordance with EOM checklist and the Company timetable

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Perform month to month review and correctly identify and explain variances for the month.

  • Maintaining the depreciation and capitalization accounting process ensuring that assets are properly and accurately added and removed from the fixed asset register and that depreciation is recorded accurately in accordance with policy

  • Prepare corporate reporting packages that are timely and accurate.

  • Manage Capex and follow up on approval

  • Prepare GST, FBT and Withholding Tax for filing and submission

  • Contribute to development and implementation of financial systems changes and process improvement/betterment of the business

  • Ensure accurate documentation of all processes for SOX Compliance

  • Handle ad hoc and audit requests as assigned

  • Performs other assignments as required

Audit

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for quarterly review procedures and quarterly/year-end financial & SOX compliance audit ;

  • Assist with addressing audit queries;

  • Furnish audit requests and financial information in a timely and accurate manner.


Others

  • Assist Manager with EOM task if required.

  • Set an example to other employees by actively demonstrating and promoting safe work methods

  • All other duties & responsibilities as directed by Management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess initiative and ability to define necessary requirements and prioritize activities to achieve deliverables on a timely and accurate manner

  • Critical thinking that will facilitate in problem solving

  • Close attention to detail

  • Ability to verify own work to ensure a high level of accuracy

  • Exposure to SOX Compliance

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment

  • Financial accounting skills - sound understanding of basic accounting concepts

  • Ability to communicate clearly, courteously and professionally with all levels of within and out of the department

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including critical thinking

  • Ability to be proactive, handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

  • Ability to re-prioritize work load based upon change in demands.

  • Ability to work independently with limited day to day direction

  • Possess good excel skill

Experience, Education and Qualification:

  • CPA/CA Qualified

  • Sound Financial accounting experience including, but not limited to, Audit and Statutory Reporting.
