Accountant CALA will be responsible to develop, review and lead the complete and timely recording in local books for three entities: Colombia, Guatemala and Peru and making comparisons against US GAAP books and providing comprehensive reporting of differences, will maintain a close relationship with his staff to provide the necessary support in the activities carried out and follow up on the requirements made by resources in-house and external providers. Sr Accountant must deliver reliable and accurate local books reports to be audited for tax purposes, additionally other duties can be assigned. The position uses resources from in-house staff and external providers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

  • Prepares analysis and reconciliations by account number of local books to US GAAP books.
  • Performs maintenance of Oracle General Ledger to make sure all the errors are corrected timely for the month-end close. Reviews monthly financial ledgers of assigned accounts.
  • Ensures data in local books are complete and in conformance with company requirements and timetable.
  • Review and verify that all monthly data from Oracle be delivered to Local Team completely and accurate to be booked under local GAPPS.
  • Communicates reporting differences to accounting Manager and provides advice on improvement to process.
  • Provides supporting reports from USGAAP Oracle and local books to meet tax audits.
  • Determine COGS for local purposes in a monthly and annual basis.
  • Lead IC reconciliation accounts in Oracle and Local books working with Corporate Team.
  • Reviews, calculates and analyzes accounting ledgers, A/R, and other accounts as necessary.
  • Support with the local audits of accounting, policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree Accounting and 3 to 4 years direct experience in accounting to include general accounting functions.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process in a large, complex organization.
  • Team leader and experience in leading accounting projects.
  • Proven experience in outsource and offshore accounting models; working in a multinational firm.
  • Contributes professional & technical expertise.
  • Experience in reporting with the Hyperion Financial Management and ERP systems (Oracle is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of local and USGAAP.
