This position would be direct support to the Controller and Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. A BS/BA and up to of 2 years of experience in Accounting are required. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel. Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete the daily banking requirements.
- Assist with completion of monthly financial statements.
- Make monthly general ledger entries for various accruals and prepayments.
- Prepare schedules and provide requested backup and explanations for the annual audit.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Complete intercompany transactions.
- Support accounts payable department, including processing A/P transactions.
- Support accounts receivable department, including cash application and managing customer accounts.
- Respond to inquiries from the President, and VP of Finance regarding financial results.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
Education
- BS/BA in accounting is required
Requirements
- Up to 2 years of experience in Accounting is required.
- Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel with an emphasis on vlookup and pivot tables.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining exceptional accuracy, is required.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Willingness to be a team player – doing whatever is necessary to get the job done.
- Experience with intercompany transactions a plus.
- Quickbooks or AS400 knowledge a plus.
- Trucking industry experience a plus.
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related BS/BA degree
- Up to 2 years of accounting experience
