At Eni, we are looking for an Accountant within Eni Natural Energies (ENE) in Mozambique. You will be responsible for assisting the Chief Accountant with processing invoices from receipt to payment, issuing billing and maintaining the company’s General Ledger.

Main responsibilities

•    Record and process invoices received, ensuring accurate matching to contracts in SAP and full compliance with fiscal and regulatory requirements. 
•    Monitor invoice approval workflows and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely processing. 
•    Liaising with company contractors regarding invoice payment matters.
•    Perform supplier ledger reconciliations and investigate, resolve, and document discrepancies.
•    Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries in accordance with accounting  policies. 
•    Calculate and post accounting entries for month-end processes, including depreciation, 
capitalization, and other closing adjustments.
•    Reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts.
•    Preparing monthly billing statements for operated Joint Ventures.
•    Preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
•    Assisting with various audits conducted by external auditors, headquarters, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
•    Preparing ad hoc accounting analyses.
•    Ensure proper filing, organization, and retention of accounting documentation in line with  company procedures.

Skills and experience required:

•    Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or another related discipline.
•    3–5 years’ experience working in the Accounting Department of a well-reputed global or multinational organisation.
•    Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
•    Experience with SAP or a similar accounting system.
•    Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
•    Intermediate level of English.
•    Strong analytical and organisational skills.
•    A professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•    Demonstrated vision and values through project or team work.
•    Ability to adapt to a challenging and evolving environment; willingness to take on new responsibilities as the business develops.
•    Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, persuasion, motivation, and loyalty.
•    HSE-related training.
