Job Description

You’ll be responsible for supporting the accurate and efficient day-to-day operations of the Finance department to ensure timely completion of periodic and year-end financial deliverables. This role contributes to strong financial processes, effective reporting, and continuous improvement while maintaining a service focused approach in supporting employees, customers, and suppliers.  Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:

  • Develop a strong understanding of our financial systems, processes, and reporting functions (including AccPac), identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting testing, implementation, and training initiatives.
  • Partner with management to ensure financial reporting continues to meet business information needs while supporting system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve complex accounts payable and vendor related issues, responding to both internal and external inquiries.
  • Coordinate and oversee routine departmental activities, including: payment cycles and monthly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve issues within our production facilities.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to Accounting Clerks, assisting with issue resolution as required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external customers, and vendors to support effective financial operations.
  • Contribute to overall operational success by taking on additional responsibilities as required.

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Typically requires post-secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting, combined with 5 years of accounts payable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including: Excel and database applications, with experience using AccPac or other ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Retail industry experience considered an asset.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that involves extended periods of sitting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent computer use that may cause eye strain, and working amid open-office noise and interruptions.  
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Skills Required
