As an Accountant for Zayo Europe, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions including month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis and training other accounting related tasks. This role requires a blends of accounting knowledge with data analysis, this positions will provide valuable knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position will need strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills which are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Prepares month-end close by completing assigned close tasks, analyzing P&L fluctuations and preparing journal entries.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
Responsible for accounting tasks related to current and future Asset Backed Securitization transactions specific to GL balance carve out work and documentation, intercompany reconciliation and billing and journal entry preparation.
Assist with the completion of the monthly variance analysis used to support reporting monthly results to management.
Collaborates with numerous teams to investigate and resolve issues timely and ensure financials are accurate.
Helps lead the team to make sure tight deadlines are being met.
Focused on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business.
Serves as a lead for the team and trains junior staff
Assist with additional duties or other ad hoc projects as assigned by the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
At least 5 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS365 products.
Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments.
Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce and/or OneStream a plus.
Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus.

Skills Required
