Job SummaryTo review, balance and reconcile general ledger accounts and other accounts to maintain efficiency and accuracy in the accounting department. Support Sr Accountants and management with projects and daily accounting activity.Job DescriptionTo be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
- Perform daily responsibility as assigned including balancing and preparing entries and reconciling the general ledger.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to third party statements and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy of accounting records.
- Propose adjusting and/or correcting entries to the accounting records to bring records into balance.
- Balance individual transaction reports to grand total report of all transactions to ensure accuracy of reports.
- Routinely monitor and identify reconciling items or issues and escalate aging items or issues timely.
- Assist with the following but not limited to: Mortgage Balancing, Card/ATM Balancing, Shared Branch Balancing, Payroll, Real/Personal Property Taxes, and/or Cash Management.
- Participate with cross training and stay up to date with backup functions.
- Assist and support internal team members and cross-functional team questions and requests promptly and courteously.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
- Two years or more of accounting experience or credit union experience in lending or branch operations preferred.
- Experience reconciling cash and other general ledger accounts.
- Knowledge of financial statement line items, bank, GL and GL reconciliations, and subledger.
- Other specific skills may also be needed to perform the duties that will be assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field OR we will consider applicants accepted into an accredited Finance or Accounting program and within 6 months of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
