Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting activities. The role requires ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries and ledger maintenance
  • Process and maintain accurate accounting records for all financial transactions
  • Perform daily bank postings and cash management activities
  • Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and updated regularly

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables
  • Maintain AP and AR reconciliations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for invoice validation and payment processing

Banking & Reconciliations

  • Perform daily bank transaction postings
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
  • Maintain supporting schedules and reconciliation documentation

Statutory Compliance

  • Manage compliance activities related to GST, TDS, EPF, and other statutory requirements
  • Ensure accurate deduction, deposit, and reporting of TDS as per applicable regulations
  • Prepare and file statutory returns within prescribed timelines
  • Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities when required
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations

Financial Reporting & Budgeting

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and management reporting packages
  • Support monthly closing activities and reporting timelines
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide financial data and analysis to support business decision-making

Controls & Process Improvement

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
  • Support audit requirements and provide necessary documentation
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Required Qualifications/ Key Skills:

  • Masters/ bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance
  • 4–6 years of experience in accounting and finance operations
  • Strong understanding of GST, TDS, EPF, Income Tax, statutory compliance, and accounting principles
  • Experience in AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI with the ability to prepare reports, analyse financial data, and support decision-making.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities
