Profile Requirements:
- Min 4 years demonstrated experience in an Accountant role supporting Australian businesses.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll, and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, including managing multiple entities.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and elimination journals.
- Strong analytical skills with experience preparing budget variance analysis and management reports.
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Core responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping across a group of 4–5 companies using Xero.
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, journals, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare consolidated financial information, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
- Perform monthly budget variance analysis and provide timely management reports with insights and recommendations.
- Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, including superannuation, PAYG withholding, and leave entitlements.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and other statutory reporting requirements where applicable.
- Support tax planning activities by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with compliance requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations across all entities.
- CFO Level Responsibilities:
- Develop financial strategies to support business growth, profitability, and long-term stability.
- Advise leadership on budgeting, cost reduction, pricing, investments, and major financial decisions.
- Monitor cash flow, financial risks, margins, and overall business performance.
- Provide forecasts, financial insights, and recommendations to guide strategic planning.
