Enterprise Services (ES) Property Accounting is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant (Level 02) knowledgeable in Financial & Property/Fixed Asset Accounting functions and activities.
This role will be located in one of our following offices: Irving, Texas; Redondo Beach, California; Bloomington, Minnesota; Melbourne, Florida, or Falls Church, Virginia and will have an in-person requirement of a minimum of two days a week.
Roles and responsibilities of the Principal Accountant will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Process project capitalization requests utilizing the standard asset capitalization form.
- Review supporting documentation to ensure cost meets the capital criteria per accounting rules, company policy and guidelines.
- Reconcile total project cost upon project completion.
- Perform asset transfers, retirements & disposals.
- Prepare fixed asset financial reports for various sectors.
- Prepare depreciation forecasts & related depreciation reports.
- Assist internal and external audit requests.
- Perform quarterly general ledger account reconciliations for fixed assets accounts using Blackline.
- Identify and assist in implementing process improvements.
- Interface with internal and external customers.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years in accounting or finance work experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high-level Excel skills (including: the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting, etc.).
- Experience with SAP S4 HANA and Asset Management (AM) module.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Work effectively with geographically dispersed team and customer.
- Drives continued success by finding and communicating opportunities for efficiencies, process improvement, and/or automation of processes, in support of the Company's digital transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to multi-task, produce quality results, and consistently meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP and Asset Management (AM) module.
- Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS.
- Professional experience in a regulated industry: to include Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services.
- Ability to use technical aptitude to solve problems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
