We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to establish and manage the finance function for a growing manufacturing business in Zambia. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is comfortable working in a startup environment, taking ownership of financial operations, and building accounting processes from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain the chart of accounts and accounting systems.
- Develop financial reporting processes and ensure timely reporting.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with local labor regulations.
- Handle tax filings and ensure compliance with Zambian statutory requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
- Collaborate with management to improve financial controls and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Experience working in Africa is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, payroll, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and establish finance processes from scratch.
- Experience with EBizframe ERP is a strong advantage.
- Candidates with experience using SAP Business One, Sage, or other manufacturing ERP systems are also encouraged to apply.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Willingness to relocate to Zambia.
