Major roles and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in maintaining general ledger and preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries within the required timeframe.
- Assist in maintaining Workday general ledger database, participating in ongoing enhancements, discussing/resolving issues with immediate superior.
- Maintain a spreadsheet for all Operating Expenses by month, by company and by department.
- Reconcile and analyze various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with Bank reconciliations
- Responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of all carrier settlement entries including all cash and/or balance sheet entries.
- Act as a back-up for the intercompany receivable and payable account analyses and in the billing, collection, and/or payment of any balances due.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financials and management reports.
- Act as a back-up for preparation of annual Federal and State tax packages; preparation and proper filing of various monthly, quarterly and annual taxation forms and fees and maintain records of schedules of regulatory requirements.
- Gather and produce general ledger reports and work papers needed to prepare various tax schedules.
- Assist all departments in the research and compilation of financial information for all audits, legal and tax requirements.
- Organize and maintain 1099 recipients data and ensure all recipients receive accurate information.
- Reconcile all premium related bank accounts and pass the needed entries in order to complete in time for the monthly close.
- Prepare wire transfer entries for the general ledger.
- Additional assignments/projects that may be assigned by the Director, Agency Accounting or Comptroller/CFO.
