Our operations in Rogaška Slatina are a key part of our organization and we’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join us in Slovenia. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial operations while ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AT FISKARS GROUP

In this role, you will be pivotal in enhancing our financial operations while ensuring financial accuracy and integrity. Your primary focus will be managing the general ledger, performing closing activities, and overseeing cash-flow planning and payments. Your duties will also include training colleagues, maintaining compliance with the latest legislation, and contributing to audits and inspections. Additionally, you will oversee record-keeping to ensure accuracy and up-to-date financial data.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and manage the General Ledger to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded

  • Closing Activities: Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities with precision

  • Cash-Flow Planning: Plan and manage liquidity and cash-flow to ensure the company’s financial stability

  • Payment Handling: Oversee the handling of payments to ensure timely and accurate transactions

  • Legislation Compliance: Stay updated with relevant legislation and seamlessly implement new changes and features

  • Audit Participation: Actively engage in audits, inspections, and other review processes to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Training and Development: Educate and mentor co-workers, enhancing the overall competency of the accounting team

WHO YOU ARE

Our ideal candidate has progressive experience in accounting and finance. Your systematic approach, organizational abilities, and reliability will be key to support our operations in Slovenia. Additionally, you should be able to communicate complex information clearly and ensure that all financial practices comply with current Slovenian legislation and standards.

Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles

  • Accounting Proficiency: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with SAP is highly preferred.

  • Language Skills: Upper-intermediate knowledge of the English language (B2), highly preferred

  • Financial Acumen: Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting areas
