Student Business Services is seeking an Accountant Senior to perform essential duties to support university partnerships. This role is responsible for performing professional accounting functions, conducting data analysis to support university initiatives, and ensuring the accuracy and required reporting. The Accountant Senior will oversee and review the work of lower-level accounting staff, ensuring billing accuracy and adherence to key deadlines.
Salary: $63,000 per year.
Essential Duties:
Develops and prepares reporting based on query results from University Data Warehouse tables.
Researches, analyzes and uses independent judgment in a variety of daily and non-routine decisions affecting third party group and department.
Advises administrative management on procedures and suggesting process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborates with other university departments to provide data to fulfill partnership reporting needs.
Develops a strong understanding of the university student billing system to research discrepancies and perform complex reconciliations.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Peoplesoft or other similar student account information system with specific query and reporting experience.
Experience in preparing detailed and complex reports utilizing data warehouse/storage and retrieval systems such as Microsoft Access or other query software.
Experience in a university setting and/or familiarity with federal regulations pertaining to student information.
Experience with Workday Accounting system or other on-line accounting systems.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
Stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Department Statement: Student Business Services provides accounting functions in the areas of Student Accounts, Cashiering Services, Collections, Tuition Assessment and Treasury Management.
