Accountant, Record to Report for Global Financial Operations

We are looking for Accountant, Record to Report for Global Financial Operations to be based in Chennai, India. Global Financial Operations is a global operational finance business partner, providing efficient end-to-end financial processes to Valmet. We are owners of Valmet’s operative accounting and invest heavily in process harmonization and software automation. We are ambitious and passionate in developing our processes and team competencies.
In this position, you will be required to,
Managing fixed assets and lease accounting, including reporting and maintaining relevant subledgers and systems.
Coordinating and performing accounting activities to ensure compliance with reporting requirements, IFRS, and other applicable regulations.
Maintaining and overseeing fixed and leased asset registers.
Supporting investment project validation, administration, and related accounting activities.
Executing period-end closing tasks such as depreciations, valuations, reconciliations, and account specifications.
Providing expertise, coaching, and guidance in accounting principles and practices to accountants, controllers, and other stakeholders.
Identifying requirements and solution gaps, and effectively driving change management initiatives.
Collaborating closely with Business Finance and other key stakeholders.
Understanding how individual work contributes to organizational strategy and actively participating in target-setting.
Demonstrating commitment to high performance and continuous development.

To succeed this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
Strong self‑motivation, with the ability to meet deadlines and take hands‑on ownership while collaborating across teams and functions.
The capability to identify critical topics and process-related issues when required.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information effectively.
Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Strong documentation and presentation skills.
The ability to work well under pressure, remain focused on priorities, and positively influence others.

Skills Required
- Graduate degree in Commerce or equivalent
- Over 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience in Shared Services
- Experience with Basware (invoice processing and master data setup)
- Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and compliance
- Invoice processing, tax handling, and legal invoice requirements
- Accounts reconciliations and financial data validation
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Self-motivated attitude and strong team spirit
