This is a unique opportunity for a qualified accountant to join Micron, a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions. As an Accountant (Japanese Speaker), you will play a crucial role in our finance team, focusing on accounting and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities and Tasks (include but are not limited to):

  • Month-end close activities, preparing journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct monthly close analytics and variance analysis, including ad hoc reports, to provide valuable insights to the management team.
  • Perform and validate monthly account reconciliations, ensuring flawless accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Maintain expertise of internal policies and regulatory compliance requirements to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance to SOX and internal control, consistently upholding the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Provide training to internal customers and peers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners and finance analysts, building strong relationships and facilitating efficient teamwork.
  • Offer assistance to individuals involved in the audit process, such as external auditors, to facilitate a seamless auditing experience.
  • Present financial information to Finance Management, showcasing your exceptional communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts concisely.
  • Take on ad hoc tasks as assigned, demonstrating your flexibility and ability to successfully implement new initiatives.

Key Skill/Competencies

  • Apply intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze and manipulate financial data.
  • SAP experience is highly desirable, enabling you to navigate our systems efficiently.
  • Apply your expertise in accounting standards, including IFRS and USD GAAP, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Experience with Blackline, Ariba, and Concur is preferred, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Apply your strong data analysis skills to derive valuable insights and contribute to informed decision-making.
  • Preferred experience includes familiarity with PowerBI and RPA, allowing for the utilization of technology to streamline reporting and automate tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to tackle complex financial challenges with confidence.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and effective communication with colleagues at all levels.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and initiative by acting and operating independently.
  • Thrive in a rapidly changing environment, working under strict deadlines and adapting to evolving priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent experience in Accounting/Finance, providing you with a strong foundation in financial principles.
  • Possess 4+ years of accounting or finance experience, demonstrating your proven expertise in the field.
  • Shared service experience is preferred, highlighting your ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Japanese language speaking would be an added advantage, supporting our global operations and enabling effective communication.
