Performs a variety of specialized and/or complex accounting functions for a line of business/program or set of accounts. Maintains, reconciles, and analyzes general ledger and accounts, and prepares complex transactions and journal entries, requiring a deep understanding of the business or program. Executes the financial close process, and prepares financial statements and complex reports. Prepares schedules for audits and tax filings, and researches and resolves accounting discrepancies. Perform quality reviews of accounting transactions and processes, and provides training and guidance to team members as necessary.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business or Healthcare Administration, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Deep working knowledge of basic principles and methods of accounting, auditing and financial reporting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
- Deep working knowledge of accounting and/or finance operations for a particular function, line of business or program.
- Ability to maintain and balance a variety of highly complex financial records, ledgers, and accounts.
- Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical functions and computations, including percentages, decimals and prorated amounts.
- Ability to translate financial data into reports and presentations for appropriate audience.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to recognize, research and resolve questionable data.
- Organization skills and attention to details.

Pay Range is $41.45 to $62.18 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
