Requisitos
- Profesionales en el área de Contabilidad.
- 5 años de experiencia en liderazgo de procesos contables y tributarios, de preferencia en organizaciones sin fines de lucro.
- Experiencia dando capacitaciones relacionadas con educación financiera, contabilidad y control interno.
- Inglés en nivel intermedio.
- Manejo de Microsoft office en nivel intermedio. Uso de sofware contable.
- Habilidades de liderazgo, negociación y resolución de problemas.
- Comunicación intercultural asertiva.
- Adaptabilidad y proactividad.
- Trabajo en equipo.
- Licencia de conducir vigente.
- Pasaporte vigente.
- Disponibilidad para viajar y realizar trabajo de campo en un 50% del tiempo de trabajo.
Resume
Your main role is to be Compassion’s primary financial liaison to the local church, and you are responsible for working closely with internal and external clients across the organization to answer financial questions and provide advice on proper accounting. As the primary liaison, you are responsible for developing relationships with local Partnership Facilitators (PFs) and other members of the Church Facing Team (CFT), church partners, and denominational leaders that are characterized by mutual respect, trust, and service that builds up church ministry.
You are accountable for supporting partner relationships regarding financial and accounting matters; for bringing a developmental mindset to financial aspects of the partnership, including mobilizing staff and other resources to support the church; and are a key contributor to passing on financial and accounting knowledge and best practices.
You will use your advanced knowledge of accounting principles and standards and sound internal control environments including the COSO Framework to support, train, and equip local churches. You will work closely in coordinating with PFs and CFTs, acting as a supporting role providing subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities
- Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
- Uses independent judgment to serve internal customers, answering financial reporting questions, explaining accounting principles, advising on the proper recording of transactions, and informing others of financial policies and procedures. Partners in problem-solving for both procedural and technical issues.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on the organization’s financial general ledger system, including the chart of accounts, functional allocation, fund balances, segments and other attributes of the system.
- Maintains monthly/annual financial close processes through preparation and/or review of key journal entries and account reconciliations, analyzes financial activity for errors or misclassifications and corrects as needed. Also prepares and distributes financial statement reports and provides additional information related to reports for appropriate actions and decision-making.
- Attends training and/or accesses other means to maintain a level of knowledge and/or credentialing sufficient to perform all the requirements of this position.
- Makes use of appropriate opportunities to teach other team members and internal clients about accounting concepts and their organizational application.
- May be called on to coach or oversee the work of junior accounting staff, as well as coordinate tasks, as needed, with other team members.
- Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core "Cultural Behaviors" in all internal and external communication and relationships.
