About the Role

As an Accountant III, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. You will prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. You will also assist accounting management in a variety of functions including general ledger support, account reconciliations, and various other assignments as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience


  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience


  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education


  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP• Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities


  • Strong Excel skills and demonstrable ability to manipulate, summarize, and analyze large sets of data• Ability to work independently on assigned projects


  • Consistently strives to improve processes and gain efficiencies, including participation in the testing of new accounting and other system functionality


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or pursuing
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and CAS
  • Public accounting and other related experience
  • Financial management planning/budget and forecasting experience

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$79,264.96 - $108,989.33
