Summary:
Under general supervision, performs accounts receivable and general accounting work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character. Prepares various accounting statements and reports including statements for customers, internal reports for management and various other accounting reports. Analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as researching and resolving discrepancies. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of manual journal entries, participating in financial audits, and general ledger accounts and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year. Handles special projects, as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly manual journal entries related to bad debt calculation, T&E expenses and other duties as assigned for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies through monthly account reconciliations as well as other accounts as needed.
  • Provide support for internal and external financial audits by following established procedures and maintaining proper documentation as required by internal controls.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy of manufacturing accounting processes.
  • Conduct proactive variance analysis and communicate financial risks, opportunities, and recommendations to operations management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and management reporting tools.
  • Interface with management in various departments, providing information and various analyses on a timely basis.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support special projects or financial analysis when needed by management.
  • Support initiatives for process improvements such as accounts receivable reporting, revenue recognition review, expense analysis or other opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Possesses and applies knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; high level of accuracy, accountability and integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced PC skills, including intermediate Excel capabilities, such as pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service mindset and commitment to supporting internal stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience or Master's Degree in Accounting / Finance

Skills Required
